Van der Schyff plastics began its humble beginnings back in 1987 when the owner Ismail van der Schyff left a plastics recycling co. and started collecting waste plastics from various companies.One of them being TDC (Truworths Distribution Centre) where he started collecting scrap hangers.

 

Ismail was later joined by his son Bajunet who began working during school holidays and  joined the company permanently in 1989.Ismail holds a certificate in extrusion and moulding from the Plastics Federation of South Africa.
